Hi everyone,
Well last Sunday saw the local Triathlon season finally come to a close. It’s been a long season of racing commencing for many back in late October in Noosa!
1. Gatorade Finale!
Race 7 of the Gatorade Series at St Kilda was the finale for the Victorian tri series and it was great to have a few Tri Fitness athletes down there flying the flag. Darryn Skipper, Matt Hosken, Dean Brown & Zoe Saunders all did a great job out there in what was pretty good conditions. Big thanks to coach Steelo also for cheering them all on down there!
2. Ironman Melbourne
As many of you know IM Melbourne sold out in 4.5 minutes last week! Please let us know if there are any of you who missed out and would like us to ‘try’ and squeeze you in somehow.
3. Getting Started
Whilst we have been plugging longer events like Ironman of late we would love to help anyone in the squad who is still working towards either their first triathlon, multisport or running event. Please don’t hesitate to let us know if there is an event you would like to focus on either over the winter or next season that we can assist you along your way to reaching your goal.
4. New Starters
A big welcome to new starters Roisin, Maria, Marianne, Will, Jacque and Zoey. All the best with getting into the swing of training guys!
5. Coach Matty
Coach Matt now has a new mobile number if you need to reach him. He will now be on 0448 103 674.
6. Off Season Program
As mentioned at training this week we have now moved into our off-season training program. Whilst we have decided to keep all existing sessions going the focus of the sessions will be shifting to a lower intensity & technique focus. We will be building the volume slowly over the next few months to get some good base training in everyone’s legs leading up to the warmer months.
7. End of Season Celebration
Following on from the season finishing we are looking to have an end of season dinner at a venue TBC. We are looking at potentially Saturday 5th May and will be a sit down dinner where we will present a few awards across the course of the night. The night will be a chance to get out of the lycra and dress up with a formal theme, so dresses and suits everyone! Cost will be confirmed per head and partners are definitely invited. We will confirm a date and further details within the week so we can sort out numbers.
8. Birthdays
A huge week in birthdays! A big happy birthday today to Heidi Bramberger & Ricky Gopinath. Happy birthday also to Tim Botterill for yesterday the 3rd April, Rori McDonnell for tomorrow 5th April and Nick Phibbs for Monday 9th April. Remember to let us know your birthday if you haven’t already.
