Good afternoon everyone,
We hope you are having a great week and finally enjoying a few hot days!
Plenty of news to report this week…
1. Racing News:
Great job to all those out there racing on Sunday at Race 3 of the Gatorade Series! It was Top10s & PBs which is a huge reward for all the hard work over the winter. A big special congratulations to Monique Mac Neill who podiumed, coming across the line 3rd in her age group! Competing also were Jane Price, Karin Limon, Kat Williamson, Dave Limon, Sam Delmenico, Steve Adams, Dean Brown, Dan Kokken, Ed Polke, Ben Tatti, Luke Stratford, Matty Hosken & Tim Botteril (just missed the podium).
If the Gatorade results weren’t enough, the Sorrento Swim was also on the weekend and a huge congratulations goes out to to Darryn Skipper who won his age group and Rebecca Coomes who was 3rd in hers. Awesome work guys!
Finally the Bay to Bay Run was also on Sunday, which is a 27km run starting at Dromana and going up and over Arthurs Seat to Cape Shank. Our resident ‘Rambo’ Johnno Bradbury smashed out a great run in the Tri Fitness colours.
Fantastic to see so many of you out there getting involved in all sorts of different multisport races. Whilst the podiums are amazing, we want to continue to encourage everyone to get out there and give these different events a go regardless of where you finish!
2. Camp Reminder:
One final reminder about the camp coming up Thursday week down on the Mornington Peninsula. The camp is for everyone of all levels so please let us know if you are planning to come along and haven’t already. We are really looking forward to what will be a fantastic few days!
Last Thursday we finished off our week of Time Trials with the run TT. Awesome to see a heap more PB’s and everyone really starting to improve at the right time of the year!
Remember that all the time trial results, current and past, are posted online in the members only section so if you haven't already create a log in, it only takes a couple of minutes. There will also be articles on training, nutrition, recovery and racing posted from time to time. Please let us know if you would prefer us not to post yours there and will send them to you individually.
A big happy birthday to Sam Cavanagh for this Saturday 21st January and Chrissy Williams for this Sunday 22nd January. Have a great day guys!
5. Race Gear:
With a new shipment in we now have all sizes available in the Tri Fitness racing kit so please don’t hesitate to let us know if you would like some. It is great having everyone in the team gear and makes it a lot easier for us to spot you out there at the events!
A big congratulations to Amy Bell who got engaged over the Christmas Holidays! Fantastic news Amy from all of us at Tri Fitness.
7. Quote of the Week:
